In 1014, Coach Gaona started coaching at
Frisco High where he also teaches Digital Interactive
Media & Digital Graphics & Animation.
Coach Gaona played club soccer for six years
and is a former Frisco High Raccoon where he played soccer all 4 years. Coach Gaona attended Collin College and TWU.
He is married to Brenda, and they have a 2 year old girl named Eva Isabella.
This is Coach Brent Beeson's first year coaching
at Frisco High School and his 8th year coaching
boys soccer at the high school level. He has
spent the past three seasons (2011-14) as the
boys head soccer coach at Northwest High
School (6A) in Fort Worth, and one year as the boys assistant at Northwest.
The previous three years, (2007-10), Coach Beeson was the boys head soccer coach at Robinson High School (4A) in Waco. He currently teaches 10th grade World History. He grew up in Waco, Texas and played club soccer for Waco 83' Blast. He graduated from Midway High School (6A) in 2001 in Waco, Texas. Coach Beeson played on the varsity soccer team his junior and senior year. He graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos with a B.A. in History.
Matt Owings grew up in the northern suburbs
of Chicago where he went to the state tournament
in tennis. He attended college at Washington
University in St. Louis where he was the captain of
his rugby team.
Having played soccer his whole life, he began coaching while student teaching in St. Louis. Since 2007, Coach Owings has been the assistant coach for Frisco High Ladies Varsity and is also the ladies JV coach.
In 2014, the Lady Raccoons were named 4A Regional Champions, and Coach Owings was named the Assistant Coach of the Year. He teaches mathematics (AQR & Pre-AP Pre-Calculus). Matt is married to Maegan for over 2 years, and they have a puppy named Otis. Coach Owings is excited about the season!!
Coach Jaime Leraas was born to play soccer.
Trainedat a young age to sniff out the ball and put
the ball in the back of the net. She played forward
for JJ Pearce in her formative years, but out of
necessity became a goalie her final year.
Heralded as the starting goalkeeper for the UIL Texas High School all century team, she went on to play for the University of Texas. She quickly became the school record holder for saves, shutouts, wins, and all around awesomeness.
She began coaching straight out of college at Plano West, winning the Texas state championship in only her second year. She then began the Frisco girls soccer program in 2000 and has been Frisco's head coach ever since. She took her 2004 team to the state tournament, and just two short years ago was ousted late in the playoffs by eventual champion, her alma mater JJ Pearce.
Leraas attended JJ Pearce High School where she played high school soccer and basketball. She attended the University of Texas at Austin as a scholarship player and majored in kinesiology and minored in education and psychology. She was also a Youth Division 1 club player with the D'Feeters '76 for 7 years.
In addition to coaching Frisco High School Girls Varsity Soccer team, she coaches the Andromeda '85 Girls club team 2000-present. She previously was assistant coach at Plano West High School for the Girl's Varsity Soccer Team who were Class 5A Girls Soccer State Champions.
